Comme vous le savez, nous NIPAF (Nippon International
Performance Art Festival) avons entrepris PAPA (Platform Asian
Performance Art ) à la fin de l'année 1999.
Maintenant informés que,
dans quelques pays asiatiques, l'art de la performance est devenu un nouveau
support artistique et qu' également quelques festivals d'art de la performance y
ont déjà commencé ... cela devient une intéressante et palpitante aventure.
Nous avons des conditions économiques et politiques différentes en Asie. La
liberté d'expression est très limitée dans certains pays, mais nous connaissons
déjà quelques artistes oeuvrant dans ceux-ci malgré tout. Même dans un pays
riche comme le Japon, où les artistes de la performance sont toujours
marginalisés, tout de même quelques jeunes artistes se joignent à nous.
Peut-être la signification de l'art est un peu différente, pour nous que pour
les autres. Mais nous apprenons beaucoup à travers cet art particulier ainsi qu'
en rencontrant et en connaissant d'autres artistes dans le monde. Alors nous
nous sommes dits que nous devions monter un bon réseau entre les artistes pour
promouvoir le mieux possible notre propre développement.
PAPA, a édité "
Asian Performance Artists " (2000), présentant 44 artistes, avec une page
chacun, provenant de 11 pays asiatiques. Nous travaillons, actuellement, sur
le volume 2, même si nous rencontrons, comme toujours, des difficultés
financières.
Maintenant nous voulons commencer " PAPA E-News " sur la toile
du net. Une information certainement mensuelle sur l'art de la performance en
Asie.
Nous recevons déjà le même genre de nouvelles par E-mail de New York,
Franklin Furnace Archive,INC. "Going On"
et également de "Perfonews"
(actualités mondiale de l'art performance et d'autres arts).
" PAPA E-News
" se focalise sur les artistes de la performance asiatiques et des performances
réalisées en Asie. Cela signifie que si vous ^tes asiatique que vous pouvez nous
envoyer votre actualité, même si vous n'êtes pas en Asie, ou si vous n'êtes pas
asiatique et que vous préparer des performances dans un pays asiatique.

Dear Friends;
As you know, we NIPAF (Nippon International Performance Art
Festival)
declare set up PAPA (Platform Asian Performance Art) in the end of
1999.
Because we know now in some Asian countries, Performance art is
becoming
new art medium and also some performance art festivals have started
already
in this area. It is very good and very interesting story.
It
is so different economical and political condition we have in Asia. The
freedom of expression is so limited in some countries, but we already know
some artists doing in such condition there. Even rich country like Japan,
performance artists is always outsider, but still some young artists will
join us. Maybe the meaning of art for us is a little different than others.
But we learn a lot through this art medium and meeting and knowing other
artists in the world. Then we realized we should make good networking
between the artists in order to have good our own developing.
As
PAPA, we had published " Asian Performance Artists" in 2000, introducing
44
artists, each one page, from 11 Asian countries. Now we are working to
publish volume 2 of it. Even we have financial difficulties as
usual.
Now we want to start "PAPA E-News" in e-mailing style. It is
monthly
(maybe) news about Asian performance art. Now we already receive
same kind
of news via e-mail from NY, Franklin Furnace Archive, Inc. "Going
On" and
also from perfonews "PERFONEWS". They are worldwide news about
performance
art and other art.
But we "PAPA E-News" is focusing Asian
artist's performance art and also
performance art event in Asia. It's mean
if you are Asian, you can post
your event's information us, even in out of
Asia, and if you are not Asian
but if you have plan to have performance in
Asian country, you can also
post us.

whole Asia, by Asian artists and also non-Asian
artists.
2) Performance
Art Event in the world, by Asian artists.
